Director of Emergency Medical Services

OBJECTIVES:
Individual directs the day-to-day operations and business matters of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department and is responsible for establishing the long range vision, mission and goals of the department. The goal of our EMS department is to provide a high level of pre-hospital care throughout Delaware County through implementation of technology, innovation, evidence-based medical protocol, and quality assurance programming. Also responsible for coordination of county-wide services with fire based emergency medical service providers in Delaware County. Individual reports to the County Administrator.
JOB STANDARDS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Administration, or Arts in the areas of Business, Public or Medical Services combined with a minimum of ten (10) years relevant work experience; or an Associate’s Degree combined with Fifteen (15) years relevant work experience. Must demonstrate competency in effective leadership and management principles within an emergency services management organization with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on county business as a continued condition of employment. All required licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
